The suspects tried to flee in one of the victims vehicles.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are investigating a shooting that erupted in a southwest-side neighborhood Wednesday.

Police were called to the 100 block of Bluffside Drive around 10:30 a.m., for a shooting in progress.

According to a preliminary report, a 56-year-old man saw a 27-year-old man inside a building with two suspects believed to be in their 20s. At one point, the suspects allegedly pointed a gun at the younger man, prompting a physical fight. Gunshots were fired inside the location.

Police said the victims told investigators the suspects then attempted to flee in one of the victims’ vehicles but it became stuck in the roadway. More gunfire erupted before the suspects ultimately fled on foot. No injuries were reported.

Upon arrival, officers saw the suspects running from the scene and discarding guns. Police chased them on foot and detained both suspects. Four firearms were recovered, according to the report.

SAPD said this is an ongoing investigation.
