One man is dead after an argument at a San Antonio apartment complex turned deadly, according to a preliminary report from the San Antonio Police Department.
At about 11 a.m. on Saturday, April 5, San Antonio Police Department officers were called to a shooting in progress at the 400 block of Barrera Street near downtown. When officials arrived in the area, they found a man dead at the scene with an apparent gunshot wound. The man was 63-years old. Officials searched the apartment complex until they found another man who appeared to have injuries.
That man, who is also 63, police said had “ multiple stab wounds and a broken ankle.” Police attempted to talk with the man, however, they said he was not cooperating with the investigation. Despite his lack of cooperation, police said they believe the man who was shot and the man who was stabbed knew each other.
They also believe that the two men were arguing before the argument escalated into one of the men shooting the other. “However currently, it is unknown who was the primary aggressor,” the San Antonio Police Department preliminary report states. The man with the broken ankle was taken to the hospital by San Antonio Fire Department-Emergency Medical Services personnel to a local hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
There were no other injuries to report, and an investigation remains ongoing into the shooting, police said.
