SAN ANTONIO — A man is dead after being shot early Tuesday morning on the south side, police say.

The victim, a 21-year-old man, was visiting a home on West Villaret Boulevard, near South Zarzamora just after 3 a.m. when the shooting happened.

Police say the man was with two suspects in the front door hallway when a gun was fired.

The man suffered a gunshot wound to his chest and died at the scene.

Police are looking for the two suspects who took off in a black Dodge Ram following the shooting.

A neighbor who is fed up with gun violence in the south-side neighborhood said, “You wonder, ‘Ok, are we in danger? Are they gonna shoot at us, and get hit?’ So it’s scary. It really is. And I think it’s not gonna get any better unless police do something about it.”

Homicide detectives are investigating.
