San Antonio police search for drivers in 2 separate unsolved July hit-and-run cases

In both cases, Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for credible tips that can help lead to an arrest.

SAN ANTONIO — More than a month later, San Antonio police are still searching for those responsible for two separate vehicle deaths.

In both cases, the victims were walking when they were hit by a vehicle. Those drivers never stopped to help the victims.

The first incident happened on July 4 and the second on July 13.

On the Fourth of July, police said 40-year-old Christopher Montgomery was hit while crossing Eisenhauer Road. A witness told officers they saw a black vehicle slow down and then immediately take off, not stopping to help the victim.

Montgomery died from his injuries.

The second hit-and-run on July 13 happened near northbound I-10 west and Guadalupe Street around 10:15 p.m.

Police said 26-year-old Jesus Hernandez tried to cross the highway when he was hit by a driver who didn’t stay to help him.

A second driver then struck Hernandez but that driver did stop.

Hernandez was pronounced dead on the scene.

In both cases, San Antonio Crime Stoppers is offering up to $5,000 for credible tips that can help lead to an arrest.

Anyone with any information is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 210-224-STOP.
