
San Antonio police say a man was shot in the hand by a woman after a confrontation while he was walking his dog on the North Side early Thursday.
SAN ANTONIO — Police are searching for a woman accused of shooting a man while he was walking his dog on the city’s north side early Thursday morning.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, the shooting happened around 12:30 a.m. in the 11800 block of Braesview, near Northwest Military Highway and an apartment complex.
Investigators say the woman approached the man and asked him for money. When he refused, police say she pushed him and the situation quickly escalated. At some point, officers say the woman pulled out a gun and shot the man, hitting him in the hand.
Police say the victim did not immediately call for help, waiting nearly an hour after being shot before contacting authorities.
The suspect fled the scene before officers arrived. At this time, police say they do not have a description of the woman.
The victim is expected to recover.
Police are asking anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has information to contact San Antonio police as the investigation continues.
