San Antonio police seek driver in west-side crash that left one teen injured

San Antonio police are investigating a crash that left a teen hospitalized after a Toyota Camry turned in front of his vehicle and fled the scene on foot.

SAN ANTONIO — A 17-year-old was hospitalized Saturday night after a crash on the city’s west side, when another car turned in front of him, San Antonio police said.

SAPD responded to a major accident on Old Highway 90 and Southwest 34th Street around 9:30 p.m.

Police said a teen was driving a silver Mitsubishi Mirage eastbound on Old Highway 90. The teen was driving through a green light when a gray Toyota Camry turned in front of him, heading south onto Southwest 34th Street from the westbound lanes.

According to SAPD, the teen was unable to avoid the crash, hitting the Toyota Camry. The occupants of the Toyota Camry then fled the scene on foot without stopping to render aid.

The teen was taken to a local hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Police said once they locate the Toyota Camry driver, they’re expected to face a charge of collision involving injury.

The case remains under investigation by SAPD.
