San Antonio’s Hemisfair will host its annual Veterans Day celebration on Saturday, honoring those who served with a special ceremony and live performances.

SAN ANTONIO — Military City USA, is gearing up for a weekend of gratitude. This Saturday, Hemisfair will host its fifth annual SA Veterans Day celebration, honoring the men and women who’ve served our country with courage and sacrifice.

Presented by H-E-B Operation Appreciation, the all-day free event runs from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. at Hemisfair’s Civic Park on Nov. 8.

The heart of the celebration happens at 1 p.m., with a special ceremony featuring the Presentation of Colors, the National Anthem, and remarks from Mayor Jones, Commissioner Moody, and Major General (Ret.) Juan Ayala.

Guests can enjoy live music and performances by Bexar Brass, The Noah Peterson Soul-Tet, Lynnwood King and the Revival, Vic Vaga’s “Rod Stewart Tribute,” Chuck Wimer Band, and Superfónicos, plus DJ sets throughout the day.

Families can also explore more than 50 veteran resource booths, take part in kid-friendly activities, and connect with those who have worn the uniform and the people who support them.

Organizers say it’s a chance to honor heroes, enjoy good music, and celebrate the spirit that makes San Antonio proud to be Military City USA.
