SAN ANTONIO — A 52-year-old woman recalls a violent incident that she says all started when someone brake checked her on the highway. She now has bruises as a painful reminder of the encounter. She did not want to be identified but says the situation began on I-37 North Access Road and Fair Avenue.
“I’m being tossed around like a ragdoll, she said. “And this is traumatic for me because now I can’t even walk anywhere without looking over my shoulder.”
She says she was on her way home.
“On the highway, this black SUV cut me off so I honked, and I guess that upset the driver,” she said. “After that I started getting brake checked. I moved over into the other lanes to avoid any situation.”
The woman says the driver cut her off three times but then two passengers from that car got out – and the situation escalated.
“She opened up her door got out like she was gonna come and hit my car,” she said. “And started yelling, ‘I have my son,’ so I get out of my car, I’m blocked in. There’s cars behind me. There’s cars in the lane. I couldn’t move anywhere.”
That’s where a brawl between her and the man started.
“He knocked me down twice,” she said. “When I got up the first time, he started kicking my car.”
Police confirm they are investigating. The woman told us she gave the images she took to police, but we blurred his face since police said they couldn’t confirm he was the suspect.
“I just don’t want my family to be retaliated upon because I don’t know what kind of people he’s involved with,” she said.
The 52-year-old woman is planning on pressing charges.
