SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Spurs’ number two overall pick Dylan Harper reportedy underwent surgery on his left thumb on Friday, according to ESPN.
Around 6 p.m., NBA Insider Shams Charania reported Harper had surgery on a ligament in his left thumb, leaving questions surrounding his availability for the Spurs season opener.
Harper had a strong showing against the No. 1 overall pick Cooper Flagg in their NBA Summer League matchup, finishing the game with 16 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 2 steals and a block on 5-12 shooting from the floor and 6-7 from the free-throw line.
San Antonio hopes he will be ready for their season opener against the Mavericks and Flagg.
The Spurs open their season in Dallas on Wednesday, Oct. 22, 2025.
