
The NBA reveals the Spurs’ opener against Dallas and the Christmas Day game against the Thunder.
SAN ANTONIO — The NBA announced the San Antonio Spurs‘ 2025-26 regular-season opener and their Christmas Day game ahead of the full schedule release.
The debuts of the top two picks in the NBA Draft 2025 will showcase Dallas’ No. 1 draft pick Cooper Flagg as the Mavericks will host San Antonio’s No. 2 draft pick Dylan Harper and the Spurs at 8:30 p.m. CDT.
The 78th edition of the NBA on Christmas Day will tip off with the Cavaliers at the Knicks, with the Spurs visiting the NBA champion Thunder at 1:30 p.m. CDT.
The NBA will announce the complete regular-season schedule on Thursday.
AUSTIN SPURS HOSTING OPEN TRYOUTS
Here is your chance to play for the Spurs organization with the G-League’s Austin Spurs.
The Austin Spurs will hold local player tryouts on Saturday, Sept. 13, at Premier Athletic Complex (8220 183A Toll Road, Leander, TX 78641). Check-in will begin at 8:30 a.m., and tryouts will take place from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Participants will take part in a series of skill-based drills and scrimmage sessions led by Austin’s coaching staff. The day is designed to evaluate each player’s skill level, conditioning and overall readiness for professional play.
Members of the Spurs basketball operations team will be on site to observe. Up to three players from the tryout may be invited to Austin’s training camp. Since 2013, 14 players from local tryouts have made the team’s opening night roster.
