San Antonio Spurs’ Stephon Castle hip flexor strain to keep him out of lineup for at least 1-2 weeks, ESPN reports

The reigning Rookie of the Year will reportedly be re-evaluated in one to two weeks after ESPN says he suffered a left hip flexor strain.

SAN ANTONIO — Just days after learning Victor Wembanyama will be sidelined for “a few weeks” after suffering a left calf strain, another one of their rising stars is set to miss some time as well.

On Tuesday, ESPN reported that Stephon Castle will be “re-evaluated” in one to two weeks as he recovers from a left hip flexor strain.

So far in his sophomore season, Castle has averaged 17.3 points, 7.5 assist and 5.8 rebounds per game.

The back-to-back Rookie of the Year recipients, who have propelled this young Spurs team to have one of the best records in the association in the early parts of the season, will now miss significant time.

San Antonio is currently sitting at fifth place in the Western Conference, but can the rest of this young roster keep the momentum and hold down the ship while arguably their two best players are sidelined with injuries?
