SAN ANTONIO — Today, members of the San Antonio Board of Realtors rolled up their sleeves at Haven for Hope, not to sell homes, but to give others a place to rest.
Real estate agents from around the area gathered to wash sleeping mats for the unhoused, an annual tradition they observe.
Watching as volunteers wipe where he’s slept, Tyson Brown recalled the hard life he’s had leading up to now at 21-years-old.
“I’m thankful. I look at it as a blessing because they could be doing other stuff,” Brown said.
He’s found a job and a new life because of Haven for Hope.
Which is exactly what the San Antonio Board of Realtors helped continue on Thursday.
“People can eventually end up in a home and we are that resource for them. But we can also lend a helping hand here at Haven for Hope,” Leslie Brown with the San Antonio Board of Realtors said.
They spent hours cleaning the mats that hundreds sleep on every day.
If you or your organization would like to give back in a similar way, you can do so by heading over to Haven for Hope’s website.
