San Antonio woman faces 10 years after cameras caught her ‘repeatedly’ beating puppy

SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio woman is facing between two to 10 years in prison after she was caught on camera beating her 3-month-old poodle, Thanos.

Back in January, a neighbor recorded 23-year-old Havanna Miller on her apartment balcony “repeatedly hitting a small puppy,” according to Animal Care Services (ACS).

ACS cruelty investigators and SAPD immediately opened an investigation.

The next day, Miller was arrested and Thanos was transferred to an out-of-state rescue group after a judge granted legal custody of the dog to ACS.

Thanos has since been adopted.

Miller faces two to 10 years in prison and a $10,000 fine for third degree felony animal cruelty charges.

Her sentencing date is set for Oct. 28.
