SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Zoo recently had their one millionth visitor and they surprised them with an awesome gift basket packed full of zoo fun.
On Monday, November 18, Christina Bresendez and her granddaughter, 4-year-old Evelyn Morales, were greeted with a huge surprise and festive fanfare as they walked into the zoo.
“Congratulations, you are our one millionth guest,” was shouted by Zoo Crew members, amidst a shower of streamers.
Cowboy, San Antonio Zoo’s beloved mascot, presented them with an awesome gift basket, brimming with plush animals, exclusive zoo experiences, and four San Antonio Zoo Memberships.
“We are so excited! This is going to help her mom, too; she’s a single mom. It will be great for her to have the Membership. It was very surprising, but it is going to be great,” said Christina Bresendez.
The pair had an up close and personal visit with the zoo’s slippery serpent ambassador, Suki, a Honduran milk snake, and Greta, a 3-banded armadillo, which added to the fun.
“We are thrilled to celebrate our millionth guest, and it’s truly inspiring to witness the support our community shows us every day,” said Tim Morrow, President & CEO of San Antonio Zoo. “As a 110-year-old institution, we are honored to connect our community to wildlife and wild places. We look forward to many more years of inspiring guests through education and conservation.”
The San Antonio Zoo says they have a commitment to providing engaging and educational experiences, and fostering a lasting connection between visitors and nature.
