San Antonio Zoo lights up parking garage to show support for flood victims

The zoo remains committed to being a source of comfort and support for all those impacted.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Zoo is showing their support for the those impacted by the floods in the Texas Hill Country.

They are lighting up their parking garage with green lights until the end of July.

“In light of the recent catastrophic tragedy that has shaken our community, San Antonio Zoo is standing in solidarity with those affected and offering support during this time of grief and healing,” said the San Antonio Zoo.

“This act honors a local family’s request to display green ribbons in observance of their missing daughter. Green, symbolizing harmony, health, and hope, serves as a reminder of the strength and unity found within our community.”

The zoo has been in contact with the affected counties to explore more ways to help during this difficult time, and say they remain committed to being a source of comfort and support for all those impacted.

“We are heartbroken and devastated by the tragedy and loss in the Texas Hill Country.” Said Tim Morrow, President & CEO San Antonio Zoo,” We were inspired to light the San Antonio Zoo Parking garage green when we saw social media posts of a local family asking our community to put up green ribbons.”
