SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Zoo is giving the community a budget-friendly way to celebrate Christmas Day with a little wildlife magic mixed in.
On Wednesday, Dec. 25, the zoo is offering $8 admission for all guests as part of a special Locals Day, inviting families to spend the holiday surrounded by animals, lights and festive cheer. The zoo will be open from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at 3903 N. St. Mary’s St.
As the sun sets, visitors can experience Zoo Lights, powered by CPS Energy, which transforms the zoo into a glowing winter wonderland. Zoo Lights runs through Jan. 4, 2026.
Zoo officials say Locals Day is designed to make visits more accessible, and for Christmas Day, the discounted admission is open to everyone meaning no proof of residency is required. The goal is to help families make holiday memories while also connecting with the zoo’s conservation, animal care and education efforts.
Tickets for the $8 Christmas Day admission must be purchased here to receive the deal.
