San Antonio’s H-E-B ranks as one of the most trusted grocery chains

Like the Grammys and the Oscars, awards are given out every year to supermarkets and grocery chains and San Antonio’s H-E-B always makes the rankings. Most recently, a survey listed the local chain as one of the most trusted grocery chains in the U.S.

BrandSpark International released its annual grocery edition rankings on Wednesday, January 4. The market research firm surveyed 10,082 Americans to capture their real opinions of which grocery stores they trust the most. Trust leaders were identified by eight store formats nationally and in four major regions and across 36 key attributes.

From their findings, H-E-B tied at No. 5 with ShopRite for the most trusted overall. Walmart took first place, while Kroger, Publix, and Safeway followed. However, H-E-B did rank No. 1 as the most trusted for quality fresh food and an enjoyable in-store experience. The local company also ranked second as the most trusted for affordability. Walmart took first in that category.

In the rankings, H-E-B also topped the following categories: service and friendly staff, store organization, meat, produce, prepared meals, seafood, and healthy prepared foods.

H-E-B is used to receiving praise. Last August, H-E-B Pharmacy took the top spot in best customer satisfaction in the J.D. Power 2022 U.S. Pharmacy Study for the second year in a row. In the same month, Forbes listed H-E-B as one of the best companies to work for.
