BUNA, Texas — A 24-year-old San Marcos man was arrested Monday in Buna in connection with a fire that damaged a Wimberley bar and restaurant and left one person injured, according to the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office.

Aiden Dwyer, 24, of San Marcos, was taken into custody in the 500 block of County Road 737 in Buna by Jasper County deputies, Texas Rangers and the Hays County Fire Marshal, according to a Jasper County Sheriff’s Office Facebook post. He is charged with setting fire to Savage’s Hometown Bar & Grill in Wimberley on Friday morning.

The fire happened around 5 a.m. Friday at the establishment, according to authorities. One person was injured in the incident.

Dwyer’s arrest followed the execution of a search warrant Monday by multiple law enforcement agencies. “The warrant stemmed from a fire investigation in Wimberley, Texas over the weekend at Savage’s Bar and Grill that left one person injured,” the Jasper County Sheriff’s Office stated in a Facebook post.

The investigation is ongoing and being conducted by the Texas Rangers and the Hays County Fire Marshal’s Office. Dwyer is currently being held in the Jasper County Jail.
