San Marcos police are investigating two overnight shootings, one fatal near Kissing Alley and another on Post Road. The cases aren’t believed to be connected.

SAN MARCOS, Texas — San Marcos police are investigating two separate shootings that happened overnight, leaving one person dead and several others injured.

The first shooting occurred around 10 p.m. Saturday near Kissing Alley in the downtown square. Police said three people were taken to the hospital, where one of them later died.

Investigators are now searching for two suspects believed to have left the downtown area in a four-door silver or gray Audi A3. Hopkins Street was shut down between LBJ Drive and Guadalupe Street for several hours as officers collected evidence.

A second, unrelated shooting was reported around 1:30 a.m. Sunday on Post Road. One person was taken to the hospital with injuries, and police have not released the suspect’s name or description.

Authorities said the two incidents do not appear to be connected.
