Santikos announces explosive gain in locations, stretching across eight states

SAN ANTONIO — Local San Antonio theater chain, Santikos Theaters, gains almost three times as many locations after signing an agreement to acquire an extra two theater companies, according to a press release. 

This acquisition brings Santikos from 10 locations around the San Antonio-area to 27 locations including, Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, South Carolina and North Carolina, the release says. 

“We have been working on expansion plans since 2018. After clearing the COVID hurdle, we are now in a great position for future growth and expansion,” stated Tim Handren, CEO of Santikos.

This business move makes Santikos the 8th largest theater circuit in North America after now acquiring the Grand Theatres and AmStar Cinemas from VSS-Southern Theatres, LLC (“Southern Theatres”).
