SAPD: 1 dead, 2 others hurt after showing up to Baptist hospital with gunshot injuries

It’s unclear at this point how the trio were injured, but police said the car they arrived in had bullet holes.

SAN ANTONIO — A young man died at a west-San Antonio hospital Tuesday evening after showing up with two others who said they had been shot, police officials said.

Authorities are still working to determine what happened to the trio before they arrived to the Baptist Neighborhood Hospital at Highway 90 and Cupples around 7:20 p.m. in a Lincoln Navigator. The victims haven’t been identified aside from law enforcement estimating they were between 15 and 21 years old.

The two taken to local hospitals were shot in their upper and lower torso, the sergeant said. The male who died was hit “in the abdomen area.”

Police said none of them were cooperating with authorities, but authorities noted bullet holes and other damage on the car they arrived in.

“Could’ve been anything from a bad drug deal, road rage, ‘I’ve got a beef with you,’ stolen car—we don’t know at this point,” he said.

The two surviving victims were “both talking,” the sergeant noted. They are believed to have suffered non-life-threatening injuries.
