SAPD: 11-year-old boy struck by vehicle on far northwest side, driver cooperating

Police said the driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators.

SAN ANTONIO — An 11-year-old child was hospitalized after being struck by a vehicle Tuesday afternoon on the far northwest side of the city, according to San Antonio police. 

Officers were called to the intersection of Tezel Road and Silent Sunrise around 5:45 p.m. for a major accident. 

Police said an 11-year-old boy was walking onto the 8900 block of Silent Sunrise at an “unsafe time,” when they were hit by a vehicle. 

The child was taken to a local hospital in unknown condition.   

Police said the driver remained at the scene and was cooperating with investigators. 

It is unknown if the driver will be facing any charges.
