A 15-year-old is fighting for his life after police say he reported being shot in an alley before being hospitalized for emergency surgery.
SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department said a 15-year-old has been hospitalized after suffering a life-threatening gunshot wound to the chest after a shooting on the north side.
Around 9:20 p.m., SAPD responded to the 1700 block of Montview after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, officials say they located a 15-year-old male who was responsive but suffering from a single gunshot wound to the right side of his chest.
The victim told authorities he was shot in a nearby alley but not “entirely forthcoming as to the exact location” or people he was hanging out with at the time of the shooting.
Police confirmed the teen was in life-threatening condition as he entered surgery Tuesday night.
This is an ongoing investigation.
