Police have few clues as the teen was unable to give them much information.
SAN ANTONIO — A 16-year-old boy who was shot on the southwest side Monday night continues to recover.
Police said the teen was rushed from the scene on Somerset Road in critical condition about 8 p.m.
Neighbors at the Hunters Glen Townhomes near I 35 said they heard a commotion and found the teen on his own front porch, banging on his door and begging for help.
Police believe the teen was shot in the common area near the front of the complex and ran home for help.
The initial police report said when officers found the boy bleeding on the ground they provided life saving measures right away, but they said the teen wasn’t able to tell them anything about what happened.
They said at the time, they weren’t able to find any witnesses who saw anything, however there are surveillance cameras in the complex, so the investigation continues.
San Antonio Police provided a list of calls for service from the last 90 days at the complex.
It shows police have been called about 70 times, many times for assaults and disturbances.
No condition update was available Tuesday, but one neighbor said the teen underwent surgery early in the day.
Police continue to look for clues. 210-207-7635 is the number for the homicide division.
