
A 16-year-old is fighting for his life after police say he reported being shot in an alley before being hospitalized for emergency surgery.
SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are investigating after a teenager was shot and seriously injured just north of downtown San Antonio.
According to the San Antonio Police Department, officers responded around 9:19 p.m. Wednesday to the 1700 block of Montview near Jackson Keller Road for a shooting in progress.
When officers arrived, they found a 16-year-old boy with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Police say he had actually been shot at a different location and ran to the Montview address to get help from a neighbor.
The teen was taken to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries, according to police.
Investigators say the victim was unable to provide suspect information, and no suspects have been identified.
Police have not released details about where the shooting originally occurred.
The case is being investigated as an aggravated assault with a deadly weapon, and remains ongoing.
