SAPD: 18-year-old in critical condition after ‘rifle caliber’ shots fired into home; 4 to 6 male teen suspects at large

Witnesses told police about four to six male teens fired “rifle caliber” shots into the back of the home before running away.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department has confirmed an 18-year-old is in critical condition after a shooting on San Antonio’s northwest side.

Around 6 p.m. Monday, SAPD responded to the 300 block of Adaes Avenue after receiving reports of a shooting.

Witnesses told police that about four to six males, ranging in age from 15 to 18, fired “rifle caliber” shots into the back of the home, striking an 18-year-old male.

Police say the victim has been hospitalized with life-threatening wounds.

Authorities said they are still searching for the suspects in this case and as of now, they don’t know what the motivation for the shooting was.
