SAN ANTONIO — A 19-year-old male has been hospitalized after police say 30 to 40 shots were fired in what they believe to be a targeted attack on the victim.
Around 6 p.m. Thursday, the San Antonio Police Department responded to the 700 block of Rice Road after receiving reports of a shooting.
Upon arrival, police found a 19-year-old with several gunshot wounds and transported him to a local hospital.
A witness claimed they saw a gunman jump out of a car and open fire on the victim.
Police told KENS 5 based on the shell casing found on scene, there were “between 30 and 40 [shots], probably from three different weapons.”
Authorities added that this was not a random attack and they believe “it was definitely targeted.”
Reports show that a house and separate building were also hit during the attack, but the 19-year-old was the only individual injured.
Police believe they have two or three suspects on their hands as they reportedly were seen leaving in a vehicle following the shooting.
This is an ongoing investigation.
