The unidentified victim was taken to a San Antonio hospital with life-threatening injuries, authorities said.
SAN ANTONIO — Police say a 19-year-old female suffered life-threatening injuries when someone forced their way into her northeast-side apartment unit and shot her Friday evening.
A suspect has not yet been detained. A San Antonio police sergeant on the scene along Nacogdoches Road near Judson said it’s unknown if the unidentified victim knew the gunman.
It started when the suspect started beating on her door, police said. When the victim answered, the suspect forced his way in before shooting her in the chest.
“As far as we know, (the suspect) took off on foot,” SAPD said.
The victim was taken to San Antonio Military Medical Center.
Crime scene investigators were expected to arrive to the scene in the 14700 block of Nacogdoches; law enforcement were checking for surveillance cameras that could provide clues about who they’re looking for.
