SAPD: 27-year-old woman kidnapped from downtown area; search underway for her and suspect

Witnesses say the victim and suspect were in a previous relationship.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are searching for a woman who investigators say was forcibly taken from a downtown location early Wednesday morning.

Officers were called to the 300 block of Labor Street for an assault in progress around 5:30 a.m. but upon arrival, both the woman and the suspect were already gone. The woman has been identified as 27-year-old Destiny Rose Ferdin. She is described as being 4-foot-10 with black hair and eyes and weighs about 115 pounds. She was last seen wearing a pink shirt and blue jeans.

Police said Ferdin was forcibly taken to a different location in a White Dodge Ram. Witnesses told police the two had previously been in a relationship and that the woman was placed in the vehicle before the suspect drove off in an unknown direction. The suspect is believed to be a 35-year-old man.

SAPD, along with the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office and Atascosa County authorities, are now actively searching for the suspect’s vehicle and are asking for information about where the pair may be headed. At this point, police say it’s unclear what injuries the woman may have suffered.

Because of the circumstances, investigators released a flyer with Ferdin’s information as the search continues. Anyone with details on the whereabouts of either the woman or the suspect is urged to contact SAPD’s Missing Persons Unit at 210-207-7660.
