SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police are asking for the public’s help identifying the person who assaulted an 8-year-old boy before stealing his family’s vehicle on the city’s northwest side.
The robbery happened on Friday, Nov. 21, 2023, around 4:30 p.m. in the parking lot of the 100 block of Bandera Road.
According to investigators, the child had been charging his iPad inside his parents’ vehicle. When the parent returned to turn the vehicle off, he discovered an unidentified suspect sitting in the driver’s seat.
Police say the suspect assaulted the boy before speeding away in the stolen vehicle. The child was not reported to have suffered life-threatening injuries.
SAPD is now searching for the suspect and is urging anyone with information about the case to come forward. Detectives are looking for details that could help identify and locate the person responsible.
