
Officials say that Jamie Ray Rencher, 47, used social media to target the victim and facilitate an in-person meeting in the Houston area.
SAN ANTONIO — A man has been arrested and is being charged with Aggravated Kidnapping with Intent to Sexually Abuse after police say he targeted a teenage girl on social media, then met up with her and tied her up and sexually assaulted her.
Police believe there could be more victims who have yet to come forward.
Jamie Ray Rencher, 47, allegedly used social media to target the 17-year-old victim and facilitate an in-person meeting in the Houston area. When they met up, police say that Rencher destroyed her cell phone, then tied up and sexually assaulted her. Then he allegedly brought her to San Antonio and tried to keep her hidden, but she was able to find help.
Rencher was arrested Dec. 31, 2024. Police say there are more charges pending.
Facts were uncovered during the investigation that led detectives to believe there could be more victims. Those details have not yet been released.
