SAPD: Argument over beer leads to stabbing at northwest-side bus stop

Police said the victim was transported to a local hospital with life-threating injuries.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police said an argument between two men turned violent on the city’s northwest side Tuesday afternoon.

SAPD said officers were dispatched to a VIA bus stop located on the 2100 block of Fredericksburg Road for a cutting-in-progress.

According to police, witnesses said two males started arguing over beer at the bus stop. At one point during the argument, police say the suspect pulled a knife and slashed the victim from the left side of his neck to about mid-way down his back.

Officials said the 44-year-old suspect was located and detained by police and a weapon was recovered at the scene.

The victim was transported to University Hospital with life-threatening injuries.

Police said it is unclear at this time whether or not the two individuals knew each other.

This is a developing story.
