SAPD have arrested former Holy Cross coach Armando Flores for invasive visual recording with a camera that police say was disguised as an alarm clock.
SAN ANTONIO — A former Holy Cross coach has been arrested after he was accused of disguising an alarm clock as a camera in his office, SAPD says.
34-year-old Armando Flores was taken into custody Tuesday night with a charge of invasive visual recording. When asked by media at the scene if he was innocent, Flores said he was innocent and that the “truth will come out.”
On Oct. 2, police say a juvenile student reported that Flores had told her to “stop moving the camera” that he had in his office, which was disguised as an alarm clock. This concerned the student, and she told one of the other coaches who shared an office with him.
The coach then found the camera that was disguised as an alarm clock. She further investigated the camera herself and found an SD card inside. She then found an image of herself being unclothed and multiple images of other people with clothes on. She then told administration.
It was also revealed that two months earlier on Aug. 8, Flores told the coach that there was a camera there but urged her “not to be concerned” because there was no SD card inside. The device was eventually seized by authorities.
The part-time coach was fired last Thursday night following the discovery, according to the attorney representing the school.
On Tuesday, police had enough evidence to arrest Flores without incident.
Police initially said Monday the hidden camera contained footage of the suspect having sex with another adult, as well as recordings of at least three students changing into gym clothes inside the office. However, when asked about both of these instances during Flores’ perp walk Tuesday, SAPD said that they couldn’t confirm this and that the footage was still under investigation.
Police say if you believe your child changed in this office, please call 210-207-2370.
