Jackie Deaton, 45, is telling investigators he had no idea he was taking the victim and her boyfriend as part of a kidnapping.
SAN ANTONIO — Another person is now facing charges in a kidnapping that happened in November.
Investigators say 45-year-old Jackie Deaton drove the car that was used when the victim was forcibly taken.
Deaton is telling investigators he had no idea he was taking the victim and her boyfriend as part of a kidnapping.
An affidavit claims he thought he was just driving them somewhere.
Police say back on Nov. 19, witnesses saw a woman being assaulted and forcibly pushed into a car by who they believe was 35-year-old Geoffrey Garcia, the victim’s boyfriend.
This happened on Labor Street, not far from Cesar Chavez and I-37.
An affidavit now claims Deaton was the driver of the car that took the victim and Garcia to a northwest-side motel, where a SWAT team eventually rescued the victim.
He was then arrested on an outstanding warrant.
Deaton is now being charged with kidnapping and, as of this morning, remains in the Bexar County jail.
