SAPD: Child suffers serious injuries after being hit by vehicle while riding bike on northeast side

Police said the driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers. No charges are pending in this case.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio police said a child riding a bicycle was critically injured Saturday night after being struck by an SUV on the city’s northeast side.

The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. on the 12600 block of Uhr Lane where police said a 10-year-old boy was riding his bike crossing the street from east to west when he was struck by a GMC Envoy travelling northeast.

According to investigators, the boy failed to yield to the SUV.

He was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries. Officials said he remains in critical condition.

The driver stayed at the scene and cooperated with officers, police said. No charges are expected.
