SAN ANTONIO — Two drivers are dead after a major crash in San Antonio Sunday evening.
Police were called to a major accident around the area of Fischer Road and I-35 around 4:37 p.m. The accident involved a black Mustang and a silver SUV.
Police say the male driver of the black Mustang was driving at a high rate of speed towards I-35. The driver eventually lost control, crashing into the silver SUV driven by an unknown woman, causing significant damage to both vehicles.
Both drivers died at the scene. They have not been identified as of Sunday evening.
There was one passenger in each vehicle that were taken to the hospital with major injuries. In the silver SUV they believe there was a 70-year-old man and in the black mustang there was a man in his mid-40s.
There are no criminal elements to this crash as of yet, however police say they haven’t had an opportunity to search the vehicles for any alcohol.
SAPD asks to stay away from the area for the next couple hours as the road is closed.
