SAPD: Deadly drive-by shooting may be linked to nearby crash

At about 2:03 a.m. Saturday, police say a vehicle drove by a Woodlake Estates home and opened fire, hitting a 25-year-old woman in the process.

SAN ANTONIO — A woman is now dead after a drive-by shooting on the northeast side, according to police.

At about 2:03 a.m. Saturday, police say a vehicle drove by a Woodlake Estates home and opened fire, hitting a 25-year-old woman in the process.

The woman was taken to the hospital, where she was later pronounced dead.

Several shell casings were found at the scene.

Later that morning, at about 2:10 a.m., Bexar County Sheriff’s Office responded to a vehicle that crashed at the intersection of Walzem Road and IH-35, about three miles away from the fatal shooting according to Google Maps.

Not much information has been given about the crash, but SAPD says this accident might be related to the fatal shooting, but they aren’t quite sure yet.
