SAPD: Driver fatally struck by gunfire before hitting home in far west SA

Police are looking for three “juvenile” suspects believed to be involved in the incident.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio authorities say they’re looking for three young suspects after someone driving a car was hit by gunfire then struck a home at slow speeds on the far west side.

The unidentified victim, a male, was later pronounced dead at a local hospital, officials said.

“I don’t think this was a random act. I think they knew the victim somehow,” said SAPD Sgt. Travis Gourley of the suspects, who he said could be seen on Ring camera footage leaving the area.

Police responded to the 300 block of Otter Drive, near Loop 410 and Highway 90, after the homeowner heard a loud noise and found the residence had been hit–and a man inside with gunshot wounds.

Gourley said the car rolled at idle speed into the home, which had “very minimal” damage as a result. Two bullet holes could be seen in the car.

“We haven’t gotten ahold of the suspects yet, they’re still at large,” Gourley said.
