SAN ANTONIO — A man told San Antonio police he suffered a medical episode while behind the wheel when he lost control of his car, officials said—leaving it a mangled mess Wednesday evening south of downtown.
The driver was attempting a turn when he crashed on Steves Avenue near Probandt. He and a woman had to be cut out of the wrecked car by firefighters with the heavy rescue unit.
Authorities say at least one person was taken to a hospital with life-threatening injuries.
First responders say another man who was a passenger in the car was tended to by paramedics and left the scene unharmed.
