SAPD: Elderly man dragged under car, hospitalized with life-threatening injuries

Police say the driver isn’t facing charges for now, but the investigation is ongoing.

SAN ANTONIO — A man who San Antonio police said may be homeless was hospitalized with life-threatening injuries after being dragged under a car near downtown Thursday afternoon.

Police said the driver stopped, adding that the while it isn’t believed they’ll face charges at this point, the investigation is ongoing. The incident happened in the 900 block of West Martin, right by the Interstate 10/Interstate 35 interchange.

The victim was identified only as an elderly man.

“We think he was probably dragged about 40 feet,” a representative with the San Antonio Police Department (SAPD) said.
