Two thieves conned an 85-year-old man in San Antonio, forcing him to withdraw cash after stealing his phone.
Police tell us it started when the man was approached by another man asking for a ride at the Costco on UTSA Boulevard on August 28 around noon.
Police say the 85-year-old man agreed to give the guy a ride, and drove him to a Walgreens.
The man was joined by another man who took the victim’s phone and demanded to be driven to a bank and convinced the victim to withdraw a large amount of money.
Once they got the money, the men took off in a white 2006 Ford Explorer.
The victim told police he was scared for his safety, which is why he complied. We don’t know how much money the man withdrew from the bank.
Police released pictures of the suspects in hopes of finding those responsible.
A reward of $5,000 is being offered to anyone that has information that could lead to an arrest of the suspects.
