SAPD: Father and son both dead in murder-suicide shooting on south side

Police say a family member found the two deceased men on the driveway with bullet wounds to their heads.

SAN ANTONIO — Police say two men are deceased in what appears to be a murder-suicide involving a father and his son at a south-side home.

Officers responded around 8:20 a.m. Sunday to a house in the 12200 block of Dewitt Avenue near Blue Wing Road for reports of a shooting in progress.

Police say a family member found the two deceased men on the driveway with bullet wounds to their heads. One of the men was in his early 60s and the other one in his early 30s. Officers believe the two men were father and son. Officers recovered a gun found next to the bodies.

“As of right now, homicides on scene, CSI’s on scene, processing and investigating the scene,” said a spokesman for SAPD. “And at this time, unless during the research, new information comes out, it’s apparent that it’s a murder-suicide type incident.”

Homicide is still conducting their investigation.

This is a developing story.
