SAPD: Father arrested after allegedly shooting his son in west-side driveway

The father allegedly called police saying he found his son with gunshot wounds, but he is now the authorities’ number one suspect.

SAN ANTONIO — The San Antonio Police Department has confirmed that a father has been arrested after allegedly calling 911 saying he found his son with gunshot wounds in a west-side driveway.

Early Tuesday morning, SAPD responded to the 151 block of Prosperity Drive after receiving reports of a shooting.

Upon arrival, the father of the man who had been shot said he found him in the driveway with at least three gunshot wounds.

The man has been taken to a local hospital in critical condition and police said neither he or his parents were cooperating with authorities at the scene.

After further investigation, authorities said after shots were fired, the father handed the gun to his girlfriend.

SAPD confirmed that the father is now in custody and his girlfriend could be facing a tampering with evidence charge for her involvement in the crime.
