SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police are searching for four masked men who stole cartridges containing money at an ATM on the west side of town Monday.
Officers were dispatched around 9:20 a.m. to the Bank of America cash machine located at 2120 South Zarzamora Street near Brady Boulevard for a report of a theft in progress.
Police say that the cash machine was being serviced when the four masked suspects pulled up in a vehicle.
“Four individuals got out with masks and told them to get out of the way, grabbed four cartridges with an undisclosed amount of money then got in the car, and fled the scene with the four cartridges,” said a sergeant with SAPD.
As the suspects were driving off with the cartridges of cash, they took out the money and began dumping the cartridges along the way.
Officers have collected the empty cannisters. The amount of money stolen has not been released.
Police say the suspects did not display a gun or make any threats that they know of, they just told them to get out of the way.
A description of the vehicle the suspects were in was not provided by police. Officers did say the men appeared to be in their 20s.
No injuries were reported.
This is a developing story.
