SAPD: Homeowner shoots suspect who was making threats, and banging on his front door

The suspect was taken to University Hospital with a gunshot wound.

SAN ANTONIO — Police say a homeowner fired a few rounds and shot a suspect who was banging on his front door early Thursday morning.

It happened around 12:15 a.m. in the 7700 block of Ingram Road near Culebra Road on the west side of town.

Police say this all started when a man showed up causing a scene in the middle of the night and the homeowner was just defending his home when he shot him.

The suspect, a man in his 40s, was banging on his front door and making threats. The homeowner fired shots through the door, hitting the male suspect. He was taken to University Hospital in stable condition with a gunshot wound.

Detectives are investigating.

There’s no word on whether charges will be filed against the homeowner.
