Police say an altercation turned deadly between the victim and someone he apparently knew.
SAN ANTONIO — A man is dead after police say he was shot in the head by someone he knew.
It happened at a home on Cavalier Avenue not far from South Zarzamora around 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
SAPD says one person was detained nearby, but right now it’s not clear if that was the suspected gunman or somebody else.
We are still waiting to hear back from police. Crime scene tape wrapped around the house where officers say the shooting happened.
Investigators tell us an altercation broke out between the suspect and a man he knew and at some point he fired, killing the victim with a gunshot wound to the head.
We are told the shooter ran off, but we aren’t sure if he is the person officers detained.
At this time, the case remains under investigation by police.
We have also reached out to the medical examiner on the man’s identity.
