SAN ANTONIO — A man is accused of stabbing a woman and then himself on the west side Sunday night, sending both parties to the hospital.
SAPD was called to the intersection of NW 36th Street and Inez Avenue around 9:18 p.m. for a cutting in progress. When they arrived, witnesses told them a 40-year-old man and a 68-year-old woman were having a discussion at a residence on the 900 block of NW 36th Street.
Police say the man then took out a knife and started to attack the woman, striking her in the upper portion of her body. The woman tried to flee the scene, ending up on the intersection of NW 36th Street and Inez Avenue. The man allegedly followed her and struck her again with the knife. Police say he then started to cut himself.
Officers arrived and started to render aid to both people. The suspect was also detained in the process.
