SAPD: Man arrested after allegedly running over woman

Police say the suspect initially fled from the scene, then returned again.

SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Police arrested a man who allegedly ran over a woman Saturday morning, fled from the scene, then returned a short time later.

It happened around 11:36 a.m. on Legend Point Drive at Carmel Chase on the north side of San Antonio.

Officers arrived at the scene of the accident and found a woman lying in the street with what they say were non life-threatening injuries.

The vehicle that allegedly hit the woman was just up the street from where they found her. Police determined that a driver had hit the woman with that vehicle, then fled from the location. The 26-year-old man returned to the scene a short time later and was taken into custody by police.

Police say that they don’t know what caused the man to run over the victim.

This is an ongoing investigation.
