SAN ANTONIO — A man is in custody after SAPD says he caused a crash and fled with a child who was also inside the vehicle.
Around 8:24 p.m. Thursday, officers were on the 9900 block of the access road of Highway 151 when they saw a vehicle lose control and crash into an electrical pole.
The 29-year-old driver was then seen allegedly taking a child from the vehicle and starting to run from the responding officers. Police say the suspect fled across the main lanes of Highway 151 holding the child.
Officers were eventually able to stop the suspect, and he was taken into custody. He has been charged with DWI with a child passenger.
