SAPD: Man barricaded in southwest-side home with gun after shooting woman in the head

A woman in her 30s has been taken to the hospital with a critical injury from being shot in the head.

SAN ANTONIO — Police say negotiations are in process with a suspect has barricaded himself inside a home on the southwest side of town with a gun. SAPD says multiple people are possibly inside the home with the suspect.

San Antonio Police responded to the 600 block of Taft Boulevard, near Frio City Road, around 6:15 a.m. for reports of a shooting. Police say SWAT teams are assisting with the scene.

Police say the suspect is a man in his 30s. There might possibly be a second suspect inside the home. Three people have been detained so far, however police don’t believe they were involved in the shooting.

Neighbors on both sides of the home have been evacuated for their safety. Police believe the suspect has several weapons with him inside the home.

There are no other injuries reported at this time.
